I was dead set on becoming a Theology professor by 30.
I had my 10 year plan locked & loaded. I was already offered a teaching position alongside my MRes by the principal at the end of my final exam before I had even applied. But then some pretty major curveballs came my way...
Moving city, my mental health & a pandemic to be more specific.
All in one year. I was down for the count, but it made me check in with myself and ask what I *actually* wanted out of life. I soon realised most of my life I had been curating myself to fit someone else's box.
I thought being a straight A's kid meant you're 'academic', not multi-passionate.
And soon realised that not embracing my 'both/ands' led to me 'productising' my life so I could fit neatly inside the world's algorithm. So I used my down time to learn to love & trust myself & my gut again.
I studied UX Design, I picked up photography, learnt latte art...
And soon ended up in the land of creative business girliepops. Because where else do you go when you're decide to carve your own path? But I soon found the same 'boxy' message popping up again and again...
To essentially 'productise your life' at the cost of trusting your gut.
Follow the formula, the algorithm, the aesthetic, and you'll build the business life you want. And I knew that was far from the truth. I wanted to prove you could be fully you AND successful by combining strategy and gut-instincts.
